Technical-grade Monoammonium Phosphate (MAP 12–61–0, CAS 7722-76-1) supplied wholesale by Zyntex. Fully soluble NP fertilizer for fertigation and hydroponics, ABC extinguisher powder base and flame retardant. CoA and SDS.
Monoammonium phosphate (NH4H2PO4) is a white crystalline powder that dissolves completely in water to give a mildly acidic solution. The technical grade contains at least 12% nitrogen and 61% P2O5, which explains the common name MAP 12–61–0.
Growers use technical MAP in drip irrigation, fertigation and hydroponic nutrient solutions, because it dissolves fully and leaves no residue. Similarly, fire protection companies use finely ground MAP as the main ingredient in ABC dry chemical extinguisher powders, and producers of flame retardants use it for wood, textiles and paper. Food-grade MAP also serves as a yeast nutrient and leavening component.
Furthermore, related fertilizer raw materials in our range include Potassium Nitrate, Urea and Ammonium Sulfate, and phosphate chemicals include Phosphoric acid.
Typical uses include, for example:
💧 Fertigation
Fully soluble NP fertilizer for drip irrigation.
🧯 Fire Extinguishers
Main ingredient of ABC dry powders.
🔥 Flame Retardants
Treatment for wood, textiles as well as paper.
🍞 Food
Yeast nutrient as well as leavening component.

⚠️ Safety & Handling: May cause mild eye irritation. Avoid dust formation and contact with eyes, and also wear eye protection. Store in tightly closed bags in a dry place, because it absorbs moisture. Always consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS), because it contains the full classification and handling instructions.
What does 12–61–0 mean?
It refers to the nutrient content: 12% nitrogen, 61% P2O5 as well as 0% potassium.
Why is MAP used in fire extinguishers?
Because it melts and forms a barrier on burning surfaces, it extinguishes class A, B and C fires in ABC powders.
