Description
HEDP (Etidronic Acid) (1-hydroxyethylidene-1,1-diphosphonic acid, CAS 2809-21-4) is a phosphonate scale and corrosion inhibitor used in water treatment, detergents, textiles and cosmetics. Zyntex is a wholesale supplier and distributor of HEDP as 60% solution and 90% powder, with a CoA as well as an SDS for every lot.

HEDP Product Overview

HEDP (C2H8O7P2) is supplied as a clear, colorless to pale yellow 60% aqueous solution or a white crystalline powder. It binds calcium, magnesium and iron ions and remains stable at high temperatures and pH.

In addition, water treatment users dose it in cooling towers, boilers and reverse osmosis systems to prevent scale and corrosion. Similarly, detergent and cleaning producers use it as a stabilizer for peroxide bleach and a chelating agent, textile processors use it in dyeing and bleaching, and cosmetic producers use it (INCI: etidronic acid) to stabilize soaps and peroxide products.

Notably, related chelating agents in our range include EDTA, Sodium Gluconate and Disodium Edta.

Key Applications of HEDP

Typical uses include, for example:

🏭 Cooling Towers

Scale and corrosion inhibitor.

🧺 Detergents
