Acetone Product Overview
Acetone (C3H6O) is a clear, colorless, highly flammable liquid with a characteristic sweet odor. It also boils at about 56°C and mixes completely with water and most organic solvents.
In addition, pharmaceutical and fine chemical producers use it as a reaction, extraction and crystallization solvent. Similarly, coating, ink and adhesive producers use it to dissolve resins and thin products, cosmetic producers use it in nail polish removers, and industry uses it for cleaning and degreasing. Chemical producers also use it as a raw material, for example for methyl methacrylate and bisphenol A.
