Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO, CAS 67-68-5), ≥99.9% GC, pharma, electronic and industrial grades, supplied wholesale by Zyntex. Polar aprotic solvent for synthesis, photoresist stripping, cryopreservation and formulations. CoA and SDS.
Dimethyl sulfoxide ((CH3)2SO) is a clear, colorless, almost odorless liquid that mixes with water and most organic solvents. It boils at about 189°C and, unusually, freezes at about 18.5°C, so it may solidify in cool storage.
In addition, pharmaceutical and fine chemical producers use DMSO as a reaction solvent for substitutions, oxidations and polymerizations. Similarly, electronics producers use high-purity grades for photoresist stripping and cleaning, while biotech laboratories use it to protect cells during freezing (cryopreservation). It also serves as a solvent in some topical medicines and veterinary products in certain countries, and in agrochemical formulations.
DMSO penetrates the skin easily and carries dissolved substances with it, so handling requires suitable gloves. Related sulfur compounds in our range also include Dimethylsulfone and Dimethyl Disulfide.
Typical uses include, for example:
🧪 Synthesis Solvent
Polar aprotic solvent for reactions.
🔌 Electronics
Photoresist stripping as well as cleaning.
🧫 Cryopreservation
Cell protection during freezing.
💊 Formulations
Solvent in topical as well as veterinary products.

⚠️ Safety & Handling: Combustible liquid; it penetrates the skin and can carry other dissolved substances into the body. Wear suitable chemical-resistant gloves (for example butyl rubber) and eye protection, and keep away from heat and strong oxidizers. Store in tightly closed containers, because it absorbs moisture. Always consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS), because it contains the full classification and handling instructions.
Why does DMSO become solid?
Because it freezes at about 18.5°C, it may solidify in cool storage; gentle warming makes it liquid again.
Which grades do you supply?
Pharmaceutical, electronic and industrial grades are available, so please state your application.
How can I get a price and documents?
Prices depend on quantity, packaging and destination, so please contact us with your required volume. We then send a quotation together with the CoA and SDS.
