Ethylhexyl Triazone Product Overview
Ethylhexyl triazone (C48H66N6O6) is a white to light yellow powder that dissolves in cosmetic oils such as caprylic/capric triglyceride and in polar emollients. It has one of the highest absorption values of all UVB filters, so formulators reach high SPF values with relatively low concentrations.
Sunscreen and skin care producers use it in creams, lotions, sprays and sticks, typically together with UVA filters such as Avobenzone and with Octocrylene. In addition, it is photostable and water-resistant, which supports long-lasting protection. In the EU it remains approved as a UV filter up to 5%, whereas it is not approved in the United States.
Because of its large molecule, skin penetration is low. Other cosmetic ingredients in our range also include Titanium dioxide and Zinc oxide.
