Poly Aluminium Chloride Product Overview
Poly aluminium chloride is a family of partly neutralized aluminium chlorides that contain polymeric aluminium species. Powder grades contain about 28–31% Al2O3, and basicity ranges from about 40% to 90% depending on the grade. Higher basicity means lower alkalinity consumption and better performance in cold water.
Water treatment plants use PAC as a coagulant for drinking water and wastewater, because it forms flocs faster, works over a wider pH range and produces less sludge than Aluminum Sulfate. Similarly, paper mills use it for retention, sizing and pitch control, and industries use it for process water and effluent treatment.
