Description
Locust Bean Gum (E410) (carob bean gum, E410, CAS 9000-40-2) is a natural thickener and stabilizer from carob seeds used in ice cream, dairy, sauces, pet food and clean-label foods. Zyntex is a wholesale supplier and distributor of food-grade Locust Bean Gum of Turkish origin in several viscosity grades, with a CoA as well as an SDS for every lot.

Locust Bean Gum Product Overview

Locust bean gum is a white to creamy-white powder made by grinding the endosperm of carob (Ceratonia siliqua) seeds. It is a galactomannan that dissolves fully in hot water and gives high viscosity. Grades differ mainly in viscosity (for example about 2,000–3,000 cps for a 1% solution) and whiteness. Türkiye is one of the world’s main carob processing countries.

In addition, ice cream and dairy producers use it at about 0.1–0.3% for smooth texture and freeze–thaw stability, and cream cheese, yogurt and dessert producers use it as a stabilizer. Similarly, it forms elastic gels together with Carrageenan, Xanthan Gum and Agar, which pet food, sauce and dressing producers use widely. Because it is plant-based and familiar on labels, it suits clean-label and vegan products.

Notably, related hydrocolloids in our range include Sodium Alginate and Fish Gelatin.
