Grape Seed Extract (Vitis vinifera, CAS 84929-27-1), min. 95% OPC proanthocyanidins (UV), supplied wholesale by Zyntex. Polyphenol-rich extract for nutritional products, food, beverages and cosmetics. CoA and SDS with every lot.
Grape seed extract is obtained from the seeds of wine grapes, a by-product of winemaking. It is a reddish-brown fine powder that dissolves in water and ethanol. Its main components are oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPC), a group of polyphenols built from catechin and epicatechin units.
Extracts are usually standardized to 95% proanthocyanidins measured by UV; HPLC-based values for the same extract are lower, so buyers should state which method applies. Producers of nutritional products use it in capsules and tablets, food and beverage producers use it as a natural antioxidant ingredient, and cosmetic formulators use it in skin care.
Other polyphenol-rich extracts in our range include Ginkgo Biloba Extract and Turmeric Extract, and the plant phenolic Ferulic Acid.
