Ethyl Vanillin Product Overview

Ethyl vanillin (C9H10O3) is a white to slightly yellow crystalline powder with an intense, creamy vanilla odor. Unlike Vanillin, it does not occur in nature; it carries an ethoxy instead of a methoxy group, which makes it about two to four times stronger.

In addition, food producers use it in chocolate, ice cream, bakery products, confectionery and beverages, often blended with vanillin, within the limits set by flavor regulations. Similarly, fragrance producers use it in gourmand and oriental perfumes and soaps, pharmaceutical companies use it to mask taste, and feed producers use it in pet food and feed flavorings.

Notably, related flavor ingredients in our range include Vanillin, Coumarin and ethyl maltol.
