Food-grade Ethyl Maltol (CAS 4940-11-8), min. 99%, supplied wholesale by Zyntex. Sweet, caramel-like flavor enhancer for confectionery, bakery, beverages, syrups, fragrances and feed. CoA and SDS with every lot.
Ethyl maltol (C7H8O3) is a white crystalline powder with a sweet, caramel and cotton-candy odor. It is about four to six times stronger than maltol and enhances sweetness and fruit flavors even at a few parts per million.
In addition, food producers use it in candies, chocolate, bakery products, jams, beverages and dairy desserts to round off sweetness and mask bitterness, within the limits set by flavor regulations. Similarly, fragrance producers use it in gourmand perfumes and candles, pharmaceutical companies use it to improve the taste of syrups, and feed producers use it in pet food and feed flavorings.
Notably, related flavor ingredients in our range include Ethyl Vanillin, Vanillin and Coumarin.
Typical uses include, for example:
🍬 Confectionery
Caramel and fruit enhancement.
🥤 Beverages
Sweetness enhancer.
🕯️ Fragrances
Gourmand notes.
💊 Syrups
