Description
Calcium Iodate (CAS 7789-80-2) is a stable iodine compound used mainly as an iodine source in animal feed and mineral premixes, and in some food applications. Zyntex is a wholesale supplier and distributor of this product with about 62–65% iodine, with a CoA as well as an SDS for every lot.

Calcium Iodate Product Overview

Calcium iodate (Ca(IO3)2) is a white to slightly yellowish powder that dissolves only slightly in water. It contains about 62–65% iodine and, unlike potassium iodide, it stays stable in premixes, because it does not easily lose iodine to the air.

Feed producers therefore prefer calcium iodate as the iodine source in vitamin–mineral premixes, licks and blocks for cattle, sheep, pigs and poultry. Similarly, food producers in some markets use iodates to iodize salt and as dough conditioners, within the limits set by regulations.

Furthermore, it comes in anhydrous and monohydrate forms. Other feed minerals in our range also include Zinc sulfate, Manganese(II) sulfate 1-hydrate and Copper Sulfate.
