1-Propanol Product Overview
1-Propanol (C3H8O) is a clear, colorless, flammable liquid with an alcoholic odor that boils at about 97°C and mixes with water. It evaporates more slowly than Ethanol and Isopropyl Alcohol.
In addition, ink and coating producers use it as a solvent in flexographic printing inks and lacquers, and disinfectant producers use it in hand and surface disinfectants, often combined with isopropanol. Similarly, pharmaceutical producers use it as a solvent, and chemical producers use it as a raw material for propyl acetate and other propyl esters and amines.
