Zirconium 2-Ethylhexanoate Product Overview
Zirconium 2-ethylhexanoate is supplied as a clear, pale yellow liquid, usually dissolved in mineral spirits or other solvents, with a zirconium content of about 12–24%. It is soluble in oils, alkyd resins and hydrocarbons.
In addition, paint and ink producers use it as an auxiliary through-drier together with cobalt or manganese primary driers in alkyd paints, varnishes and printing inks; it replaced lead driers in most markets. Similarly, it serves as a catalyst in polyurethane and polyester systems and as a soluble precursor for zirconia coatings and ceramics.
