Vitamin K2 (menaquinone MK-7, CAS 2124-57-4, and MK-4, CAS 863-61-6), 1,000 ppm to 98%, all-trans, supplied wholesale by Zyntex. For nutritional products, fortified foods and pharmaceuticals. CoA and SDS.
Vitamin K2 is a group of menaquinones that differ in the length of their side chain. MK-7 (menaquinone-7) comes from fermentation with Bacillus subtilis natto or by synthesis, and only the all-trans form is biologically relevant. MK-4 (menatetrenone) is mainly synthetic. Both are pale yellow powders or oils, available as pure substances and as diluted powders and oils from 1,000 ppm.
In addition, producers of nutritional products use MK-7 in tablets, capsules and gummies, often together with vitamin D3, under the regulations of each market. Similarly, food producers use cold-water-dispersible grades in fortified foods and drinks. In Japan and some other countries, MK-4 is also a prescription medicine.
Because it is sensitive to light and oxidation, the all-trans content and stability over shelf life are key quality points. For vitamin K1 and K3, see Vitamin K; related ingredients include Nattokinase and Calcitriol.
Typical uses include, for example:
🥤 Nutritional Products
MK-7 for tablets, capsules as well as gummies.
🥛 Functional Foods
Water-dispersible grades for fortified products.
💊 Pharmaceuticals
MK-4 for prescription products in some markets.
🔗 Combinations

⚠️ Safety & Handling: Not classified as hazardous under GHS in diluted forms. Avoid contact with eyes. Store in tightly closed, light-resistant containers in a cool place, because light and oxygen degrade vitamin K2. Always consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS), because it contains the full classification and handling instructions.
Why does the all-trans content of MK-7 matter?
Because only the all-trans isomer is biologically relevant, specifications control the cis isomer content.
What is the difference between MK-7 and MK-4?
MK-7 has a longer side chain and stays longer in the body, whereas MK-4 is mainly synthetic and used as a medicine in some countries.
