Phenylbutazone (CAS 50-33-9), min. 99%, supplied wholesale by Zyntex to licensed veterinary producers. NSAID API for horse and dog products; not for food-producing animals. CoA and SDS with every lot.
Phenylbutazone (C19H20N2O2) is a white crystalline powder that is practically insoluble in water. It also belongs to the pyrazolidinedione class of NSAIDs.
In addition, veterinary producers use it in tablets, oral pastes, granules and injections for horses, and in some products for dogs. Many countries have strongly restricted or withdrawn its use in humans because of side effects. Importantly, regulators do not permit phenylbutazone in food-producing animals in the EU, the United States and many other countries, and treated horses must stay out of the food chain.
Zyntex therefore supplies phenylbutazone only to licensed veterinary companies for products for non-food animals. Other veterinary APIs in our range also include Flunixin meglumine.
Typical uses include, for example:
🐎 Equine Products
API for tablets, pastes as well as injections for horses.
🐕 Companion Animals
API for authorized products for dogs.
🔬 Residue Testing
Reference material for food control laboratories.
🧪 Generic Development
Development material for veterinary products.
