USP/BP/EP-grade Diclofenac Sodium (CAS 15307-79-6), 99–101%, supplied wholesale by Zyntex to licensed producers. NSAID API for enteric and extended-release tablets, topical gels, injections and suppositories. CoA and SDS.
Diclofenac sodium (C14H10Cl2NNaO2) is a white to slightly yellowish crystalline powder that is sparingly soluble in water and soluble in ethanol. A potassium salt also exists for fast-acting products.
In addition, pharmaceutical companies use it in enteric-coated and extended-release tablets, topical gels and plasters, injections and suppositories. Similarly, topical diclofenac gels are among the most common over-the-counter pain products in many countries. Other NSAIDs in our range also include Ibuprofen and Acetylsalicylic acid.
Its veterinary use in cattle has been banned in South Asia, because residues in carcasses caused a dramatic decline of vulture populations. Zyntex supplies diclofenac sodium only to licensed pharmaceutical companies.
Typical uses include, for example:
💊 Tablets
API for enteric-coated as well as extended-release tablets.
🧴 Topical Gels
API for gels as well as plasters.
💉 Injections
API for injectable products.
💊 Suppositories
API for rectal forms.

What is the difference between diclofenac sodium and potassium?
Both are salts of diclofenac; the potassium salt dissolves faster for quick-acting products, whereas the sodium salt is common in enteric and extended-release forms.
Why was diclofenac banned for cattle in South Asia?
Because residues in cattle carcasses poisoned vultures that fed on them, causing a severe population decline.
