Melamine Phosphate Product Overview
Melamine phosphate (C3H6N6·H3PO4) is a white fine powder with about 13.0–14.5% phosphorus and a decomposition point of at least 260°C. On heating, it releases non-flammable gases and forms a char layer that protects the material underneath.
In addition, compounders use it in polyolefins, polyamides and thermosets, often together with ammonium polyphosphate and pentaerythritol in intumescent systems. Similarly, coating producers use it in intumescent fire-protective paints, and textile finishers use it in flame-retardant treatments.
