Pharmaceutical-grade L-Carnitine base (CAS 541-15-1), 98–102%, supplied wholesale by Zyntex. Amino acid derivative for infant formula, nutritional products, aquaculture and poultry feed, and pharmaceuticals. CoA and SDS with every lot.
L-Carnitine (C7H15NO3) is a white crystalline powder that dissolves very easily in water. It is strongly hygroscopic and can liquefy when exposed to humid air. Only the L-form occurs in nature; commercial material is produced by chemical synthesis with enantiomeric control or by biotechnological processes.
Food producers add it to infant formula and medical nutrition, and producers of nutritional and sports nutrition products use it in drinks, tablets and capsules, within the limits set by regulations in each market. Feed producers use it in aquaculture, poultry and pet food. Pharmaceutical companies use it as an API in some oral and injectable products.
Because the base is so hygroscopic, salts such as L-carnitine L-tartrate and fumarate are often preferred for tablets and capsules. Related ingredients include Taurine, Alpha Lipoic Acid and Coenzyme Q10.

⚠️ Safety & Handling: Not classified as hazardous under GHS. Avoid dust formation and contact with eyes. Store in tightly closed containers in a cool, dry place, because the substance is strongly hygroscopic. Always consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for full classification and handling instructions.
Why are salts used in tablets?
The base absorbs moisture very quickly. Salts such as L-carnitine L-tartrate are less hygroscopic and easier to process into tablets and capsules.
Which grades do you supply?
Pharmaceutical, food and feed grades are available. Please state the grade and application when requesting a quote.
How can I get a price and documents?
