Barium Selenite Product Overview
Barium selenite (BaSeO3) is a white to off-white crystalline powder that is only slightly soluble in water but dissolves in dilute mineral acids.
Glass producers use it as a stable and controllable source of selenium for decolorizing glass and for producing pink to bronze tints. Compared with elemental Selenium, it releases selenium more evenly during melting. It also serves as a raw material for other selenium compounds and in research on selenide materials such as Zinc selenide.
