Sulfuric Acid Product Overview
Sulfuric acid (H2SO4) is a clear, colorless, oily liquid; the technical grade supplied here contains about 98%. It is a strong acid and a powerful dehydrating agent, and diluting it releases a great deal of heat.
In addition, fertilizer producers use most of the world’s sulfuric acid to make phosphoric acid and phosphate fertilizers. Similarly, metal finishers use it for pickling steel, battery producers use diluted grades as electrolyte in lead-acid batteries, and water treatment plants use it for pH adjustment. Chemical producers also use it to make sulfates, detergents and many intermediates.
