Niobium Metal Powder Product Overview
Niobium (Nb) is a grey, ductile refractory metal that melts at about 2,470°C and has excellent corrosion resistance. As a powder, it is available in spherical and irregular forms and in purities from 99.9% to 99.99%.
Metallurgists use niobium in nickel-based superalloys and in high-strength low-alloy steels. Electronics producers use high-surface-area niobium powder for niobium and niobium oxide capacitors, an alternative to tantalum. Spherical powders, including alloys such as C103, are used in 3D printing of rocket engine and aerospace components. Niobium powder is also pressed and sintered into sputtering targets.
