Description
High-Purity Alumina (HPA, aluminum oxide, CAS 1344-28-1) with 99.99% and higher purity is used in LED sapphire, lithium-ion battery separators, semiconductors and advanced ceramics. Zyntex is a wholesale supplier and distributor of High-Purity Alumina in 4N and 5N grades, with a CoA as well as an SDS for every lot.

High-Purity Alumina Product Overview

High-purity alumina (Al2O3) is a white powder with at least 99.99% (4N) purity, produced by special chemical routes rather than the Bayer process used for standard alumina. It is mostly the very hard, stable alpha form.

In addition, sapphire crystal producers melt 4N–5N alumina to grow sapphire for LED substrates, watch glass and optical windows, and battery producers use fine HPA to coat separators, which improves thermal safety of lithium-ion cells. Similarly, semiconductor, phosphor and advanced ceramic producers use it in high-performance components, and polishing slurry producers use it for precision polishing.

Notably, particle size, surface area and impurity profile define grades. Related materials in our range include Yttria-Stabilized Zirconia (YSZ), Aluminum Hydroxide and Silicon Carbide.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does HPA differ from standard alumina?

It has 4N or higher purity and is made by special chemical routes for demanding uses.

Why is HPA used in battery separators?

Its ceramic coating improves the thermal stability and safety of lithium-ion cells.

How can I get a price and documents?

We supply flexible quantities, from small orders to large volumes, so you do not need to meet the high minimum orders of large producers. Please contact us with your required volume, and we will send a quotation together with the CoA and SDS.
