Pharmaceutical-grade Bupivacaine Hydrochloride (CAS 14252-80-3), 98.5–101.5%, supplied wholesale by Zyntex to licensed producers. Long-acting amide local anesthetic API for spinal, epidural and nerve block injections. CoA and SDS.
Bupivacaine hydrochloride monohydrate (C18H28N2O·HCl·H2O) is a white crystalline powder that is soluble in water. It is a racemic amide local anesthetic with a long duration of action.
Pharmaceutical companies use it in solutions for spinal anesthesia, often as hyperbaric solutions with dextrose, as well as in epidural and nerve block injections, and in liposomal extended-release forms. Similarly, related amide local anesthetics in our range include its single-enantiomer relative Ropivacaine Hydrochloride, and Lidocaine Hydrochloride and Prilocaine.
Because it is injected, sterile production with endotoxin control remains required. Zyntex therefore supplies bupivacaine hydrochloride only to licensed pharmaceutical companies.
Typical uses include, for example:
💉 Spinal Anesthesia
API for hyperbaric spinal solutions.
🩺 Epidural and Nerve Blocks
API for regional anesthesia injections.
⏱️ Extended Release
API for liposomal formulations.

⚠️ Safety & Handling: Potent pharmacologically active substance; toxic if swallowed. Avoid inhalation of dust and contact with skin and eyes, and also wear gloves, eye protection and dust protection. Store in tightly closed containers in a cool, dry place. Always consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS), because it contains the full classification and handling instructions.
How does bupivacaine differ from ropivacaine?
Both are long-acting amide local anesthetics, but bupivacaine is a racemic mixture, whereas ropivacaine is a single enantiomer with lower cardiotoxic potential.
Who can purchase this API?
Only pharmaceutical companies holding the licenses required for API purchase as well as use in their country.
How can I get a price and documents?
Prices depend on quantity, packaging and destination, so please contact us with your required volume. We then send a quotation together with the CoA and SDS.
