Borax Product Overview
Borax (Na2B4O7·10H2O) is a white, odorless crystalline powder with about 36.5–38% B2O3. It also dissolves moderately in water and forms mildly alkaline buffer solutions. Turkey holds the world’s largest borate reserves, which makes it a key regional raw material.
In addition, glass producers use it in borosilicate glass and insulation fiberglass, where boron improves thermal and chemical resistance. Similarly, ceramic producers use it in glazes and enamels, metal workers use it as a flux in soldering, brazing and refining, and detergent producers use it as a buffer and builder. Agriculture also uses it as a boron micronutrient.
