USP/EP-grade Amlodipine Besylate (CAS 111470-99-6), 97–102%, supplied wholesale by Zyntex to licensed producers. Dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker API for tablets and fixed-dose combinations. CoA and SDS with every lot.
Amlodipine besylate is the benzenesulfonate salt of amlodipine. It is a white or almost white powder that is slightly soluble in water. Developers chose the besylate salt because it is more stable and less hygroscopic than other salts, which simplifies tablet production. An alternative salt form, Amlodipine maleate, is also available.
Pharmaceutical companies use it in tablets in the calcium channel blocker class, alone and in many fixed-dose combinations, for example with Valsartan, losartan or Atorvastatin Calcium. It belongs to the same dihydropyridine family as Nifedipine, but its long half-life allows once-daily dosing.
Amlodipine is light-sensitive, so producers protect it during storage and processing. Zyntex supplies it from qualified API producers with lot-specific documentation, only to licensed pharmaceutical companies.
