USP/EP-grade Amikacin Sulfate (CAS 39831-55-5), min. 674 µg/mg, supplied wholesale by Zyntex to licensed producers. Semi-synthetic aminoglycoside API for hospital injections, infusions and inhaled products. CoA and SDS.
Amikacin sulfate is a white to off-white crystalline powder that dissolves freely in water. Producers make it from kanamycin A by adding a side chain that protects it against many bacterial enzymes, so it often remains active where other aminoglycosides such as gentamicin fail. Its strength appears as potency of at least 674 µg amikacin per mg.
In addition, pharmaceutical companies use it in solutions for injection and infusion in hospitals, and in inhalation products, including liposomal forms. Similarly, veterinary producers use it in some injectable products. Other aminoglycosides in our range also include Neomycin sulfate and Streptomycin Sulfate.
Because it is injected, sterile production with endotoxin control remains required. Zyntex therefore supplies amikacin sulfate only to licensed pharmaceutical companies.
Typical uses include, for example:
💉 Injections
API for hospital injection as well as infusion products.
🌬️ Inhalation
API for inhaled as well as liposomal products.
🐾 Veterinary Products

Why is amikacin active where other aminoglycosides fail?
Because its side chain blocks many of the bacterial enzymes that inactivate aminoglycosides, it often remains active against resistant strains.
Who can purchase this API?
