Description
Almond Oil Product Overview
Sweet almond oil is pressed from the kernels of Prunus amygdalus var. dulcis. It is a pale yellow, clear liquid with a mild odor, rich in oleic acid (about 60–75%) and linoleic acid, which makes it relatively stable against oxidation.
In addition, cosmetic formulators use it as a carrier and emollient oil in creams, lotions, baby care, lip balms and hair oils, and massage and aromatherapy brands use it as a base for essential oils. Pharmaceutical companies also use refined almond oil as an excipient in some topical and oral preparations. Similarly, food producers use it in confectionery and specialty cooking oils.
