Lithium Phosphate Product Overview
Lithium phosphate (Li3PO4) is a white powder that dissolves only very slightly in water. This low solubility is useful: lithium can be recovered from brines and battery recycling solutions by precipitating it as it.
Battery material producers use it as a combined lithium and phosphate source for Lithium Iron Phosphate cathodes. Sputtering Li3PO4 targets in nitrogen produces LiPON, a thin-film solid electrolyte for microbatteries. Other battery-related lithium salts include Lithium carbonate and Lithium hydroxide.
