Strontium Titanate Product Overview
Strontium titanate (SrTiO3) is a white powder or transparent crystal with a cubic perovskite structure at room temperature. It has a very high dielectric constant of about 300, a band gap of about 3.2 eV and a high refractive index of about 2.4.
Electronic component producers use it in boundary-layer capacitors, varistors and tunable microwave devices. Single crystals are the standard substrate for growing oxide thin films, including high-temperature superconductors and the conductive interface between LaAlO3 and SrTiO3. Researchers also use aluminum-doped SrTiO3 as a photocatalyst for splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen.
