Salicylic Acid Product Overview

Salicylic acid (C7H6O3) is a white crystalline powder or needles that are slightly soluble in water and dissolve easily in ethanol. It loosens dead skin cells and penetrates oily pores, which makes it a key active in acne care.

In addition, cosmetic formulators use it at about 0.5–2% in cleansers, toners, serums and spot treatments, within the limits set by cosmetic regulations. Similarly, pharmaceutical companies use it in topical products for warts, calluses and scaling skin conditions, and in shampoos. Chemical producers use it as a raw material for Acetylsalicylic Acid, salicylate esters and dyes.

Notably, related cosmetic actives in our range include Nicotinamide (Vitamin B3), Alpha Arbutin and Hyaluronic Acid (Sodium Salt).
