Methyl Phenylethyl Ether Product Overview
Methyl phenylethyl ether (C9H12O) is a clear, colorless liquid that boils at about 185–186°C. It is practically insoluble in water and mixes with alcohol and oils. Its odor is intense, green and floral, reminiscent of hyacinth and rose with a slightly earthy note.
Perfumers use it at low levels to add diffusion and a natural green-floral lift to hyacinth, lilac, narcissus and rose accords, in fine fragrances as well as in soaps and household products. It pairs well with other floral materials such as Benzyl Acetate and Anisaldehyde.
