Description
Magnesium Oxide (MgO, CAS 1309-48-4) is a magnesium compound supplied in light and heavy grades for pharmaceuticals, food, feed, rubber, refractories and environmental uses. Zyntex is a wholesale supplier and distributor of USP/EP and food-grade Magnesium Oxide, with a CoA as well as an SDS for every lot.

Magnesium Oxide Product Overview

Magnesium oxide (MgO) is a white, fine powder with at least 98% MgO. Producers make it by calcining magnesium carbonate or hydroxide; light-burned grades are reactive and fluffy, whereas heavy and dead-burned grades are dense and refractory.

Pharmaceutical companies use it as an antacid and laxative and as a magnesium source in tablets, while food producers use it as E530 and in fortification. Similarly, feed producers use it as a magnesium source for cattle, rubber producers use it in chloroprene curing, and steel and cement industries use dead-burned magnesia in refractory linings. It also serves in water and flue gas treatment.

Furthermore, related magnesium compounds in our range include Magnesium Hydroxide, Magnesium sulfate and Magnesium citrate.
