Description
Lutein (CAS 127-40-2) is a natural carotenoid from marigold flowers used in eye health nutritional products, food coloring, infant formula and poultry feed. Zyntex is a wholesale supplier and distributor of Lutein as free lutein crystals, powders and oil suspensions (5% to 80%), with a CoA as well as an SDS for every lot.

Lutein Product Overview

Lutein (C40H56O2) is an orange-red to yellow carotenoid extracted from marigold (Tagetes erecta) flowers, usually together with smaller amounts of Zeaxanthin. It is sensitive to light, heat and oxygen, so commercial grades are stabilized as beadlets, powders or oil suspensions.

In addition, producers of nutritional products use it, often with zeaxanthin, in capsules and softgels for eye health formulas, within the regulations of each market. Similarly, food producers use it (E161b where permitted) as a natural yellow color, infant formula producers add it in authorized markets, and feed producers use marigold extracts to color egg yolks and broiler skin.

Notably, related carotenoids in our range include Beta Carotene and Astaxanthin.
