Anhydrous Lithium Chloride (LiCl, CAS 7447-41-8), 99.0–99.5%, supplied wholesale by Zyntex. Highly hygroscopic salt for liquid desiccant dehumidification, aluminum brazing fluxes, lithium metal electrolysis and chemistry. CoA and SDS.
Lithium chloride (LiCl) is a white, extremely hygroscopic crystalline powder that dissolves very easily in water and also in alcohols and some polar organic solvents. It also melts at about 605°C.
Because it absorbs moisture so strongly, air-conditioning producers use concentrated lithium chloride solutions as liquid desiccants in dehumidification systems, similarly to Lithium bromide in absorption chillers. Metal workers use it in fluxes for brazing and welding aluminum, while lithium producers electrolyze molten LiCl–KCl mixtures to make lithium metal.
In addition, chemists use it as an additive in organic reactions and, together with dimethylacetamide, as a solvent system for cellulose. Laboratories also use its saturated solution as a humidity standard. Other lithium compounds in our range also include Lithium carbonate and Lithium hydroxide.
Typical uses include, for example:
💧 Dehumidification
Liquid desiccant for air conditioning.
🔧 Brazing Fluxes
Component of aluminum brazing as well as welding fluxes.
⚡ Lithium Metal
Electrolyte for lithium metal production.
🧪 Chemistry
Reaction additive as well as cellulose solvent system.

⚠️ Safety & Handling: Harmful if swallowed and causes skin and serious eye irritation. Avoid dust formation and contact, and also wear gloves and eye protection. Store in tightly closed containers in a dry place, because it absorbs moisture very quickly. Always consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS), because it contains the full classification and handling instructions.
Why does lithium chloride absorb so much moisture?
Because it is one of the most hygroscopic salts, it pulls water from air even at low humidity, which makes it useful as a desiccant.
Do you supply lithium chloride solution?
Anhydrous powder is standard, while solutions can also be quoted on request.
How can I get a price and documents?
