Pharmaceutical-grade Clavulanate Potassium (CAS 61177-45-5), min. 98.0%, pure or diluted, supplied wholesale by Zyntex to licensed producers. Beta-lactamase inhibitor API for amoxicillin combinations. CoA and SDS with every lot.
Clavulanate potassium is a white to off-white powder that dissolves easily in water. Producers obtain clavulanic acid by fermentation with Streptomyces clavuligerus. It is extremely sensitive to moisture and heat, so tablet production requires very low humidity, and the API is often supplied diluted 1:1 with silicon dioxide or microcrystalline cellulose.
On its own, clavulanate has little antibacterial activity. Its role is to block beta-lactamase enzymes that would otherwise destroy penicillins. Pharmaceutical companies therefore combine it with Amoxicillin 3-hydrate in tablets, suspensions and injections; this combination is also listed as Amoxicillin + potassium clavulanate. A similar principle applies to Piperacillin Tazobactam.
As a beta-lactam, it must be handled in dedicated facilities. Zyntex supplies it only to licensed pharmaceutical and veterinary companies with appropriate capabilities.

Store sealed, refrigerated or cool and dry, because the product degrades rapidly with moisture and heat. Always consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for full classification and handling instructions.
Why is clavulanate supplied diluted?
Diluting it with silicon dioxide or microcrystalline cellulose protects it from moisture and makes handling and blending easier.
How should clavulanate potassium be stored?
Keep it sealed in its original packaging at low temperature and humidity; moisture quickly degrades the API.
How can I get a price and documents?
Prices depend on quantity, packaging and destination. Contact us with your required volume to receive a quotation together with the CoA and SDS.
