Description
Ceramide NP (ceramide 3, N-stearoyl phytosphingosine, CAS 100403-19-8) is a skin-identical lipid used in barrier repair creams, sensitive skin care and hair care. Zyntex is a wholesale supplier and distributor of cosmetic-grade Ceramide NP with min. 95% purity, with a CoA as well as an SDS for every lot.

Ceramide NP Product Overview

Ceramide NP is a white to off-white waxy powder made of phytosphingosine linked to stearic acid. It is identical to one of the main ceramides in the skin’s outer layer, where ceramides hold skin cells together and keep moisture in. Commercial material is produced by yeast fermentation.

In addition, cosmetic formulators use it at about 0.1–1% in barrier repair creams, lotions for dry and sensitive skin, eczema-prone skin care and anti-aging products, often with cholesterol and fatty acids in skin-like ratios. Because it melts high and dissolves poorly, it is usually pre-dissolved in hot oils or used as a ready-made dispersion. It combines well with Hyaluronic Acid (Sodium Salt) and Nicotinamide (Vitamin B3).

Notably, related cosmetic actives in our range include D-Panthenol and Bakuchiol.
