Boswellia Serrata Extract Product Overview
Boswellia serrata extract comes from the gum resin of the Indian frankincense tree, a traditional ingredient in Ayurveda. It is a light brown to off-white fine powder standardized to total boswellic acids, typically 65% to 85% by titration, or to specific compounds such as AKBA (3-acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellic acid) by HPLC.
In addition, producers of nutritional products use it in tablets and capsules, often in combination with Turmeric Extract or Ginger Extract, under the regulations of each market. Similarly, cosmetic formulators use boswellia extracts in skin care, while traditional Ayurvedic preparations also contain it.
