Nicotinic Acid (niacin, vitamin B3, CAS 59-67-6), 99.0–101.0%, USP/EP/BP/FCC, supplied wholesale by Zyntex. For feed premixes, food fortification, pharmaceutical formulations and synthesis. CoA and SDS with every lot.
Nicotinic acid (C6H5NO2), or pyridine-3-carboxylic acid, is a white crystalline powder that is moderately soluble in water and melts at about 236–239°C. Together with its amide, Nicotinamide (Vitamin B3), it is one of the two main forms of vitamin B3.
The largest use of it is in vitamin premixes for animal feed, especially for poultry and pigs. It also finds use for vitamin fortification of flour, cereals and other foods, and as an API in pharmaceutical formulations. Compared with nicotinamide, it has different properties, so the two forms are not always interchangeable.
In chemical synthesis, it is the starting material for nicotinate esters such as Benzyl Nicotinate, used in topical products, and for other pyridine derivatives. Zyntex supplies it from qualified producers with full lot documentation.
Typical uses include, for example:
🐄 Animal Feed
Vitamin B3 source in premixes for poultry, pigs as well as other livestock.
🥗 Food Fortification
Vitamin fortification of flour, cereals as well as processed foods.
💊 Pharmaceuticals
API for pharmaceutical formulations, meeting pharmacopoeia standards.
🧪 Chemical Synthesis
Starting material for nicotinate esters as well as pyridine derivatives.

⚠️ Safety & Handling: Causes serious eye irritation; avoid creating dust and wear eye protection and gloves. Store in tightly closed containers in a cool, dry place, protected from light and strong oxidizers, so that the material stays in good condition. Always consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS), because it contains the full classification and handling instructions.
How does it differ from nicotinamide?
Both are forms of vitamin B3. Nicotinic acid is the carboxylic acid and nicotinamide is its amide; they have different properties and uses in food, feed as well as pharmaceuticals.
Which grades do you supply?
Material meeting USP, EP, BP and FCC requirements, suitable for feed, food as well as pharmaceutical use. The applicable standard appears on each lot CoA.
How can I get a price and documents?
